In 1971, Robert Silverburg wrot a book called The World Inside. It predicted overpopulation so out of control, that everyone was forced to live in giant twoers of 2 and 3 room apartments. There were a lot of other precictions that have already, or are very near to come true about overpopulation and dehumanization in that book. In 50 years, this is another example of science fiction becoming social fact.

I recently heard that the economic argument for more contraception funding is better than the environmental one. Jane O'Sullivan? compared Thailand, which had an overpopulation program in the 1970's to the Philippines which didn't, ant though Thailand today is much richer than the Philippines, the environment is not much better. So shouldn't we be fighting the overpopulation fight more in the economics field and less in the environmental field?

I would much rather have to work out how to look after the elderly than ALL the negatives of too many people !

It's one thing to be intelligent and quite another to be informed and honest. Unless you bring the totalitarian, elite globalists into the conversation, you are missing the biggest piece of the puzzle. They have been in control for a long, long time and still are, though many of us are seeing them for who and what they are.....power maniacs who despise the status quo and believe they know what's best for each country and individual, and that is to be a good, obedient and totally dependent servant to them. What other reason woud there be for third world countries to stay third world, or even get worse, with all the trillions of dollars in the hands of a few hundred or so? And then you have the UN who is re-colonizing the west with people from countries they have kept poor for generations, people who have nothing in common with anybody in the countries they are, in some cases, invading and replacing the nationalities of those who have lived there for centuries. Then you have to worry about the spies and terrorists who have invaded countries with no good intentions. They are not desperate as many are to leave their horrible countries and governments, they are there to take over when given the word. They walk among us. Anyone interested can do some homework, dig deep down some rabbit holes and find out it is even worse than this.

TULL was at their peak when Anderson wrote Cross-Eyed Mary and Aqualung. I never would have thought MARY was about population. It could be about social awareness . . . vaguely but mostly was about the conflict of Counter culture being extremely different in ethics and morals and being DEDICATED to that fact.
